China's IC industry anticipates its top award this weekend in Beijing

Anticipation is building up in China's semiconductor investment community now on this weekend's  "China Semiconductor Investment Alliance Annual Meeting" and "China IC Industry Top Award Ceremony" scheduled on January 16 in Beijing. 

The annual award is run by China Semiconductor Investment Alliance (CSIA) and ijiwei - China's top online media for and on the country's semiconductor industry. Introduced in January 2020, it recognizes achievements and innovation in the industry's previous year  to boost China's competitiveness and  upgrading in the semiconductor industry. It has become one of the most influential awards in the industry and been highly cherished.

CSIA was founded in 2017 by major semiconductor investment companies and institutions in China,  including the national  China IC Industry Development Fund, when investing in China's IC industry was hitting a new fever.  The annual meeting of CSIA and the award ceremony have attracted attendance of the  industry's top tier investors and achievers in the country, as well as representatives from multinationals.

The China IC Industry Top Award covers eight categories: the Best Institutional Investor of the Year, the Top 20 China Semiconductor Industry Investors, the Most Promising Company of the Year, the Best Startup of the Year, the IC Unicorn of the Year, the Best China Market Performing Company of the Year, the Best Technologic Breakthrough of the Year and the Best IC Industry Park of the Year. Applications for these awards have closed after two months’ selecting and running.  One hundred and twenty companies and institutes  registered. Votes on the winners are being cast among CSIA's council members and CEO group members.

Among the candidates  are SmartSens (思特威), OmniVision (豪威科技), ASR (翱捷科技), QST (矽睿科技) in the Best Unicorn of the Year category;  RunIC (润石科技),  Sunshine (烨映电子), MiraMEMS (明皜传感), Mix-Design (美思迪赛) in Best Startup of the Year category;  Xinyi Information (芯翼信息), Canaantek (迦美信芯),  Chipanalog (川土微),   Nuclei  (芯来智融) in the Most Potential Company  of the Year category;  Anyka (安凯), Wayon (维安电子) in the Best Performing Company of the Year category; ARM China (安谋中国), Sanan IC ( 三安集成电路), Guoxin Micro (紫光国微) in the Best Technologic Breakthrough of the Year category as well as Orient IC Harbor (东方芯港), and TEDA (天津经开区) in the Best IC Industry Park of the Year category.  

In addition, the January 16 event will release the 11 categories of 2020 rankings that ijiwei has been tracking: Top 100 China Semiconductor Investment Institutions, Top 100 China IC patent Companies,  Top 20 Semiconductor Investors,  Top Rich List of China IC Listed Companies, the Ranking of China IC Listed Companies by Value, the Ranking of China IC Listed Companies by Market Value, the Ranking of China Listed Companies by Net Profit, the Ranking of China Listed Companies by R&D, the Ranking of China IC Listed Companies  by PE Ratio,  the Ranking of China IC Listed Companies by Private Placement, the Ranking of China IC Listed Companies by Employee Salary and the Ranking of the Most Profitable China IC Company IPO Brokerages.
