(JW Insights) Feb 9 -- Huang Wei (黄维) from China's Xian-based Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) has been accepted as an international member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) for his innovation and leadership in organic optoelectronics materials and devices on February 7.
NAE elected 106 new members and 18 international members this year, bringing the total US membership to 2,420 and international members to 319.

Huang is a professor and doctoral advisor at NPU, Xi'an, northwestern China's Shaanxi Province. As a flexible electronics scientist, Huang also is the director of the Academic Committee and chief scientist of the Frontier Science Center for Flexible Electronics at NPU, according to NPU website.
This is the seventh academician title he has won. In addition, Huang has been honored as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Asia Pacific Academy for Materials Research (APSMR), ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET), Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS), and International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS), said the JW Insights report.
