(JW Insights) Jun 15 -- China’s Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Jin Zhuanglong met with chairman and CEO of Siemens Roland Busch in Beijing on June 14. They discussed on topics including intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, and digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, the Ministry announced.
Jin Zhuanglong said the Chinese government places significant emphasis on promoting the integration of the digital and real economy. MIIT will support multinational companies to increase their investment in advanced manufacturing industries such as intelligent manufacturing in China, and promote the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Roland Busch expressed Siemens’ willing to further expand investment in China by leveraging its technological advantages. The company will strengthen cooperation with China in advanced manufacturing, digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, and other fields.
This is Busch's second visit to China this year, during which he will announce Siemens' new moves in the Chinese market. He said earlier that the Chinese market is crucial for Siemens' innovation and growth. It was “not an option” to pull out of the market, which accounts for 13% of company revenues. “I will defend my market share, and if I can, I will expand it,” he said.
