iFlytek, China’s leading listed AI company, established a new company Sanming Kexun Artificial Intelligence Technology(三明科讯人工智能科技) on June 30, according to Chinese corporate registration information platform Qichacha. Its business covers IC design and sales, indicating iFlytek’s major foray into the semiconductor market.
With a registered capital of RMB20 million (about $3 million), Sanming Kexun is mainly engaged in R&D for applications of Internet of things, intelligent robot, automatic industrial control system. The company is 100% controlled by iFLYTEK, Qichacha showed.
Many of iFLYTEK’s R&D projects involve the semiconductor field, such as its open cloud human-computer natural interaction system for the Internet of Things. The purpose of the new company is to develop a variety of human-computer interaction core technologies, adapting the Chinese human-computer interaction system to the localized operating system and chip platform.
As a voice recognition technology leader in China, iFLYTEK will use its one-stop marketing cloud platform to solve the voice-related core technology involved in the cloud interaction system as part of the new company. It will also tackle problem in adapting China’s domestic chip platforms such as those with Cambrian and Zhaoxin chips.
The new company will have a project related to advertising trading platform and adapt the terminal acoustic algorithm and access protocol on localized operating system like HiSilicon’s chip platform in the future and supporting the use of China’s localized terminal equipment platform.
