(JW Insights) Oct 26 -- The National Data Administration was officially unveiled in Beijing on October 25, China Daily reported.
The new administration is responsible for advancing the development of data-related fundamental institutions; coordinating the integration, sharing, development and application of data resources; and pushing forward the planning and building of a Digital China, the digital economy and a digital society, among others, the report said.
It is administered by the National Development and Reform Commission, the country's top economic regulator.
Analysts said the move is part of China's broader push to develop the digital economy and build basic systems for data, said the China Daily report.
